ONLY 25 SEATS AVAILABLE! FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED!
Do you think you could tell the difference between Village and Premier/Grand level Burgundy in a blind taste test? Are you ready to put your palate to the test? Well, now’s the time to find out! Join us on Saturday, November 2nd @ 4PM in the Montclair classroom as Sharon and Wes lead a deep dive into Domaine Michel Mallard and “blind tasting” of his very best Premier & Grand crus! After the success of our first “blind” tasting class last year, we were waiting for the perfect follow up. And we got it – Michel’s finest side by side! The staff at Amanti does weekly blind tastings to keep our palates sharp and we think it’s time to get our customers involved! For this tasting experience, we will feature two different wines per round from the same producer…BUT their identities will remain unknown. Each student will taste 2 wines side by side and vote on which is which. We’ve chosen some of Michel’s most delicious Burgs in the shop, so be sure to sign up for this deliciously fun competition ASAP!

Michel Mallard —a third generation winemaker, with his sons now working as the fourth generation at the estate— views winemaking as a job focused on creating pleasure for other people. The best way to do that? Make the wines he’d want to drink himself, rather than chasing trendy or profitable styles. Located in the commune of Ladoix-Serrigny, where the Côte de Beaune meets the Côte de Nuits, Domaine Michel Mallard et Fils is perfectly placed at the junction of some of Burgundy’s most desirable micro-climates and highly specific terroir. Believing wine to be a product of the vineyard, rather than the winemaker, the Mallards carefully select and tend their parcels, seeking to develop elegant, complex wines that best express the small differences from vintage-to-vintage and vineyard-to-vineyard.
